On April 23, 2009, Right-wing Bloviator Sean Hannity volunteered to submit to being waterboarded "for charity".
It has now been
A long damn time
since he made this offer, and his nose is still dry.
It's also brown from kissing Bush's ass for eight years.
We all know he won't do it, because he's a pussy.
The higher of these two numbers below indicates which side of your brain has dominance in your life. Realising your right brain/left brain tendancy will help you interact with and to understand others.
Funny thing about spouting off at the mouth in public; people sometimes take you up on your word. If you visit SeanHannity.com and search for “waterboard” or “waterboarding”, this is what you get:
Gee, I wonder why?
It’s been a week and his nose is still dry. In a way, this is more fun than actually seeing it happen. Hannity’s put himself between a rock and a hard place here. Either he
a) backs out and doesn’t put our money where his mouth (and nose) is, thereby proving to the world that he’s a liar and a coward; or
b) he submits to the full experience of waterboarding according to the methods described by the CIA memos, in which case he will in all likelihood crack and be forced to admit waterboarding is torture and the Bush administration are therefore war criminals.
Of course, to get the full experience he must first be subjected to the full range of “enhanced interrogation methods” used by the CIA. To wit:
Six or more days of sleep deprivation
Being held in “stress positions” for hours at a time
Forced confinement in a small box filled with insects (or whatever creepy thing Sean is afraid of, perhaps Nancy Pelosi)
Being slapped around for several minutes, time TBD
Alternating freezing and hot room temperatures
All at the same time. Then, and only then, should he be waterboarded.
But we all know he won’t do it. He’s a coward, a liar and a fraud.
Rep. Bachmann must be reading my blog. This comment showed up today (e-mail address has been removed to protect the idiotic):
I have to make it public. It’s suppose to be secret, however most people in Austin, Tx knows about it. The police department has machine that can read your mind. A machine that can read someone’s mind will be used to violate EVERYONE’S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS!!! It can also change the way you feel. Sexual impulses, anger, and paranoia are all feelings they can induce to you at their fingertips. This means it can cause a girl or boy to feel sexual, and get raped thinking they wanted to. Its like a drug. This is just one of the many crimes they commit with this machine RIGHT NOW!!!! They are using it right now to spy on their citizens RIGHT NOW!!! People will be spied on in there homes, without a warrant. (this means someone will be able to watch you during sex without your knowledge.) There are a lot of people all over the United States knowing about this machine. The police department is able to use it to spy on people in their own home. During interrogation they keep a person dazed, confused and not sound of mind to cohersed them into making certain statements. This is a violation of these people’s constitutional rights. Start thinking about how the government has given the police department a weapon to commit not only one of the biggest civil and constitutional rights violations of all time, but to commit war crimes such as rape, brainwashing, and toturing people without the victim’s knowledge. I know it is hard to believe, however if you happen to know someone in the police department who cares for you enough, just ask if they have a machine that can read and control people’s mind. After that, I would also like people to think about how we are able to get the government to stop letting the police department violate the people’s civil and constitutional rights, and committing war crimes against there own citizens. Major media companies have knowledge of this, but are not willing to broadcast it. People need to find out and talk about this issue.
Thanks, whoever you are. I needed a laugh. I think I’ll go put some tinfoil in my hat now.
Right-Wing bloviator and subhuman waste of flesh Sean Hannity must be regretting last week’s moment of stupidity. You’ll recall (hell, it’s only two posts ago) that Mr. Hannity offered to allow himself to be waterboarded “for the troops’ families”. Well, that night Keith Olbermann called his bluff publicly, offering $1000 per second, if he actually goes through with it. Last night Olbermann found a volunteer to actually do it…
But we all know Hannity won’t do it. He’s a coward and a clueless chickenhawk.
On last night’s Colbert Report, host Steven Colbert unveiled his new children’s charity. It’s called DonorsChoose.org, and it is a place where schools whose populations include a high number of military families can go to request donations of money for supplies and special projects. Usually these are cash-strapped or in some cases downright poverty-stricken districts that need all the help they can get. You can search the site for schools near you and find out what the classrooms and students there are in need of.
All of the schools listed are, as I’ve said, in areas with high military populations. These kids have it pretty tough already, dealing with the constant stress of deployment. Please surf there and give what you can so the children of our nation’s best 1% can get a break.
Yesterday on his program, Sean Hannity, in a desperate attempt to look anything other than the coward and fraud he is, made the worst mistake of his life.
He volunteered to be waterboarded “for the troops”. Here’s the video:
Response was swift and predictable. On Huffington Post, hundreds of people responded with suggestions and comments on how it should be done, which techniques should be used, and many even volunteered to do it themselves.
I personally wouldn’t want to do it, because I have a conscience and I don’t believe that should be done to anyone, even someone as despicable as Hannity. However, if he’s offering up himself to take a hit for the troops, then I’ll be ready with my checkbook whenever he does it. Keith Olbermann upped the ante last night during his “Worst Persons” segment:
He’s right. This is no game. I’m not a wealthy man, but I’ll say right now that if Hannity actually goes through with this, and doesn’t chicken out like we all know he will, then for every second he endures it, I’ll give $10 to a veterans’ charity to be named later. If Rush Limbaugh joins him, I’ll double that. If Karl Rove joins him, I’ll make it $50 per month for the next year.
That’s how many times the illegal, unethical, immoral and unjustified “harsh interrogation method” known as waterboarding was used “sparingly” by agents of the CIA under the authorization of the Bush administration.
That’s how many times it was used on two men, both al-Qaeda operatives, AFTER they’d already given up any useful information they had.
This was not interrogation. It was revenge. It was punishment. It was torture.
And it was wrong. The men who wrote the memos authorizing it should be condemned, prosecuted and put in prison for a very long time. The men who did the torture must be brought to justice. And the so-called “leaders” who still, against all available evidence, insist it was necessary we do this to protect our national security should be held accountable to their crimes.
And maybe they should be waterboarded, but that’s not for me to say. I doubt Cheney or Bush would survive even the first five waterboardings, much less 266. Perhaps 266 years in prison for each of them, one year for each time this act of vicious revenge was committed, would suffice.
266. Six times a day for a month for Khalid Shayk Mohammed.
266. That’s what Bush & Cheney thought was “justified.”
266. The new Number of the Beast. Further proof, if we needed it, that neither of them have any morals whatsoever. This was not about protecting America. This was nothing more than abuse. This was torture.
Talk about tortured logic. O’l Rushbo can’t get enough of the taste of his own feet these days. Take this utterly ridiculous statement from a recent broadcast:
LIMBAUGH: The idea that torture doesn’t work- that’s been put out from John McCain on down- You know, for the longest time McCain said torture doesn’t work then he admitted in his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention last summer that he was broken by North Vietnamese. So what are we to think here?
As reported by ThinkProgress.org, Limbaugh once again took a statement completely out of context and twisted it to suit his own needs. While McCain did, in fact, say that the VC “broke” him during a torture session, you need to dig a little deeper to find the truth. I’ll let McCain’s own words speak for themselves:
Eventually, I gave them my ship’s name and squadron number, and confirmed that my target had been the power plant. Pressed for more useful information, I gave the names of the Green Bay Packers’ offensive line, and said they were members of my squadron. When asked to identify future targets, I simply recited the names of a number of North Vietnamese cities that had already been bombed. – Faith of My Fathers
And this quote from a 2005 Newsweek interview sums it up nicely:
“In my experience, abuse of prisoners often produces bad intelligence because under torture a person will say anything he thinks his captors want to hear — whether it is true or false — if he believes it will relieve his suffering.”
In other words, torture doesn’t work.
So, in answer to Rush’s question, what are we to think here? How about “Rush, you’re a fat, lying, puffed-up, egotistical, narcissistic jackass and a coward.” How about “Rush, you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about and should keep your fat pie-hole shut.” Or how about just “Rush, fuck off and die, you useless coward.”
Here’s another in our continuing lecture series, this time from UC scholar Elizabeth Warren on the (then) coming collapse of the American middle class. This lecture was delivered in 2005 and is just as relevant today as it was prescient then. It’s also an hour long, so grab some coffee, cocoa or tea and get comfortable.
This video is a must-see for anyone who wishes to understand the truth behind our present economic disaster and why Republicans should never, EVER again be trusted to control the country’s wealth. They ran us into the ground many times before, and they’ll do it again.
So you see, the disaster visited upon us by Bush & Co isn’t an aberration. It’s a logical result of a failed ideology.
