McCain flip-flops on taxes

…at least when it comes to the working classes and senior citizens.  As reported today by the Associated Press, in response to a question about tax increases, John McCain had this to say:

“There is nothing that’s off the table. I have my positions, and I’ll articulate them. But nothing’s off the table,” McCain said. “I don’t want tax increases. But that doesn’t mean that anything is off the table.”

Is this a new shift in policy for the man who once pledged to never raise taxes?
