Well, THAT was entertaining…

Tonight’s keynote speaker, Senator and Candidate John Sidney McCain, was interrupted three times by protesters.  The first was a man wearing an IVAW shirt and holding a sign reading “You Can’t Win an Occupation” and “McCain Votes Against Vets”.  If he said anything it was drowned out by the crowd chanting “USA! USA! USA!”

No one sounds intelligent chanting that.

A few minutes later the same veteran was shown on camera holding both arms up, fingers in a “V” sign.

The third was a “Code Pink” demonstrator who managed to get almost to the rostrum before being dragged out by security.

They wanted a repeat of 1968.  They got it.

It made an otherwise boring, uninspiring and predictable night worth watching.

Oh, and the old man’s reaction to the interruptions?

“My friends, my dear friends … please, please don’t be diverted by the ground noise and the static,” McCain said. “I’m going to talk about it some more, but Americans want us to stop yelling at each other.”
