At least he didn’t say “n*****”

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) is in hot water for calling Barack Obama “uppity”.  He now claims he had no idea the term is derogatory toward blacks:

I’ve never heard that term used in a racially derogatory sense. It is important to note that the dictionary definition of ‘uppity’ is ‘affecting an air of inflated self-esteem — snobbish.’ That’s what we meant by uppity when we used it in the mill village where I grew up.

He must be kidding.  He grew up in the South during the civil rights era, and doesn’t know what “uppity” means to blacks?  What a moron.

Actually, though, we may have to cut Westmoreland a break.  He’s not ignorant, after all, he’s just a moron.  This is, after all, the same jackass who wanted to post the Ten Commandments in public buildings nationwide but, when asked to name them, couldn’t get past three.

You know, they’re not that hard to remember.  In case he needs a refresher, here they are (in no particular order):

  1. I am the Lord thy God.  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
  2. Thou shalt not worship graven images.
  3. Thou shalt not kill.
  4. Thou shalt not steal.
  5. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
  6. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his goods.
  7. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.
  8. Honor thy father and mother.
  9. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
  10. Do not take the name of the Lord in vain.

There.  You now know more about, well, just about anything than Lynn Westmoron.
